Recent Events

TERAVARNA 2025 INTERNATIONAL JURIED ART COMPETITION

Margaret recently entered in the 13th Open Teravarna 2025 International Juried Art Competition and
was pleased to receive an honourable Mention Award for her oil painting titled “Lake Nagambie”


Margaret has now won a Second Award this month in November for her painting of Brian May playing his guitar.
The painting will be hung at Heathcote with the award.

 


KYNETON DAFFODIL FESTIVAL 2025

The Annual Art Prize, hosted by The Old Auction House, Mollison Street, Kyneton runs throughout the Kyneton Daffodil & Arts Festival. 

Margaret has once again participated in this event exhibiting the 3 artworks shown below.

 Prize winners were announced at the Festival Opening held at The Old Auction House on the 5th September,
and Margaret was very happy to be one of the winners.

The announcement read;

About the event

Grand opening on September 5th at 7pm will set the stage for an enchanting experience. Visitors can immerse themselves in the expressions of art and photography. The gallery spaces come alive with each masterpiece, capturing the imaginations of all who behold them.

Throughout the festival, The Old Auction House maintains its usual opening hours from 9 am to 5 pm, welcoming guests seven days a week. This independently run multi-use arts precinct is a true gem in the regional Victorian town of Kyneton, just an hour north of Melbourne.

Come and indulge in the magic of the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival Visual and Photography Art Exhibition and witness the talent and creativity displayed at The Old Auction House. It is a celebration of art and a testament to the beauty that daffodils and artistic expression bring to life.

 “Life Force” held at the Old Auction House in Kyneton, finished on the 1st August.
It was another successful exhibition, enjoyed by all participating artists and the many
visitors who came along to see the fabulous display of artworks.

AWARDS

Margaret has received awards judged by such noted artists as Carl Anderson, David K Taylor, Tim Jones, Richard Chamerski and Kevin Boucher. Many of her paintings have been purchased by interstate and overseas buyers. She has been commissioned to paint Australian landscapes in watercolour for hanging in Malaysia.

Some awards include:

Honourable Mention Award for oil painting titled “Lake Nagambie” in the 13th Open Tera varna 2025 International Juried Art Competition.

Honourable Mention at The Art Beyond the Divide Art Expo in Seymour for a silk painting. (judged by the Assistant Curator of the Benalla Art Gallery).

Highly Commended at the Woodend Lions Exhibition March 2020 for oil painting titled ‘Old Trestle Bridge across the Goulburn River in Seymour’
(judged by Jill Rivers and Llael McDonald).

Best Oil and 2nd place Watercolour at a show in Seymour in October, 2016

Highly Commended for an oil painting, ‘Sunset’ exhibited at the Woodend Art Show in November 2016. (Judged by Tim Jones).
